Palm Jumeirah as the developer describes it on its own community page.
Palm Jumeirah is a master community developed by Nakheel. This guide uses only what Nakheel publishes on its community page, as read on 30 October 2026.
Nakheel describes Palm Jumeirah as stretching five kilometres into the Arabian Gulf in the shape of a date palm tree. It covers 560 hectares of land and is home to approximately 25,000 people, with residences and waterfront homes, retail destinations, leisure attractions and marinas.
Nakheel says Palm Jumeirah has three main areas. The trunk has apartments, hotels, restaurants, marinas, private beaches, retail malls and attractions. Roads lead off the spine to gated residential communities. At the tip, a tunnel leads to the crescent, lined with beachfront resorts and residences.
The island is home to Al Ittihad Park, which Nakheel calls the UAE's first indigenous park, and to the Palm Monorail, which Nakheel calls the Middle East's first monorail system. Nakheel also lists the Golden Mile, a residential complex that includes Golden Mile Galleria and Al Ittihad Park.
Nakheel lists residential collections such as Shoreline Apartments on the trunk. Prices vary widely by project, so ask an advisor for current prices and availability.
0% income tax and 0% property tax*: the UAE does not levy income tax on individuals, and income from real estate held in a personal capacity, without a commercial licence, is outside UAE Corporate Tax.
